Originally intent on becoming a teacher after degree study, David detoured into the world of digital teaching, learning and course development.

Originally intent on becoming a teacher after degree study at Mary Immaculate College, I detoured into the world of digital teaching, learning and course development, obtaining my first class honours MA in Technical Communication and E-Learning from the University of Limerick (UL) along the way.

My work in MIC began as an Educational Technology Assistant at the inception of the Blended Learning Unit (BLU) in 2012. Since then, I have partnered with many members of staff to enhance learning with technology and have helped to co-ordinate the design, development and implementation of a number of unique academic programmes and modules of both a blended and fully online nature.

I am particularly interested in researching and applying digital technologies and innovative methods of integration to teaching and learning contexts. I believe that when harnessed well, digital technologies have huge potential to positively impact learning and the learner experience.
