Show and Tell

The Blended Learning Unit facilitates informal "Show and Tell" sessions designed for academic staff to share their experiences of using digital technologies to support teaching and learning

BLU’s Show and Tell sessions are an opportunity for academic staff to share their experiences of using digital technologies to support and enhance their teaching and learning.

These sessions are less formal than presentations and active dialogue between presenters and participants is encouraged.

The objective of Show and Tell is to provide an opportunity for academic staff to meet, share blended teaching and learning experiences that have worked well or, that may not have worked as well as anticipated, and learn new approaches to using digital technologies in teaching and learning. Sessions aim to foster inspiration in others to try something similar in their teaching practice.

Members of MIC’s academic staff lead each session and outline their experience of using a particular educational technology in their teaching. The outline should take fifteen to twenty minutes and no formal presentation is required. Speakers can choose to use the monitor to provide a quick demonstration of the technology they are using. Attendees will then have the opportunity to ask questions and have a discussion.

Show and Tell sessions usually take place on Thursdays in T1.11 from 11 – 11.30 am. There is no need to book a place, if you wish to participate just just come along and exchange some ideas with colleagues. Any updates to the time, location or schedule are disseminated to staff by email.
